Below is a typical medical transcription training experience. We are not saying there is anything wrong with the school mentioned. As we’ve said before, it is the lack of internship and job placement which is missing from many online and community colleges. Internship has always been important in the medical field. This is a letter sent to us from a student named Wendy.
I started the online Penn Foster Career School Medical Transcription program February 20, 2012 and completed the program with a 95 average and received my diploma February 21, 2013.
The curriculum consisted of a combination of online and textbook instruction.
The only job assistance Penn Foster provided was a crude resume’ builder and a job search link (Indeed).
Thank you, Wendy
Wendy sent another comment which we will post too.
Admittedly, it is frustrating that more information and assistance regarding placement wasn’t provided. However, I am committed to finishing what I started. At this point in life, I’m not looking to waste my time – especially on something as important as the decision to change careers. I am dedicated to seeing this through and doing all that I can to being the best that I can.
Please allow me to take the assessment evaluation you mentioned. I am wondering and it should be interesting to see just how much Penn Foster’s program has taught and prepared me.
Thank you, Wendy
