I have been transcribing from home part time for about 8 years, I just thought I might expand my experience some by getting my MT certification.
Health Institutions hire medical transcriptionist with MT certification.
"I was talking to a friend of mine who has been doing medical transcription from home for the past 12 years for a doctor's office. I talked to her about my interest in wanting to get my MT certification. She told me that billing and coding was the way to go - that unless you are already established in MT, those jobs are few and far between.
I find that hard to believe as the schools are also teaching editing in the medical transcription courses due to how much technology has grown over the years. So I thought I'd come on here and find out from those who are MTs. Is it a good idea to get my MT certification or stick with billing and coding?
Note: I have been transcribing from home part time for about 8 years, I just thought I might expand my experience some by getting my MT certification."
